Endow Manitoba

Endow ManitobaEndow Manitoba is a province-wide informational campaign to help raise awareness of community foundations and build support. In rural Manitoba, 45 Community Foundations are participating in Endow Manitoba, a special campaign encouraging residents of towns and regions to consider a gift to their local community foundation. In North Central we have 3 community foundations, The North Norfolk and MacGregor Foundation, Big Grass Community Foundation and the Community Foundation of Portage and District Inc (CFPDI).

“Giving to a community foundation means giving back to your hometown forever,” says CFPDI Executive Director Karen Braden.  “It’s a great opportunity to take care of a community and future generations. Endow Manitoba is a way to get the word out about what we do and how we can help people from all walks of life make a difference.”

Donations to a community foundation are pooled and permanently invested. The income earned on these investments is distributed each year to support local charitable needs in accordance with the donor’s wishes. These foundations are a sustainable model for communities and gifts today will have impact for generations to come.
