The Community Foundation of Portage and District (CFPD) is accepting applications for a new grant that music teachers will be interested in. The purpose of the grant is to enhance music programs by providing funds for instruments, music or something unique or new that adds to their program.
Schools within the district of Portage la Prairie that have a music program are eligible to apply. The value of the grant is up to $800 this year. Download the application here (fillable PDF), email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone (204) 274-2442 for a copy. Please email a signed copy to CFPD. Application deadline is May 15, 2014.
The Kathleen Bjarnason Fund for Music was established with CFPD by Lorraine Rae and Kenn Bjarnason in memory of their mother who lived for music. Lorraine said it means a lot to her family to help young people appreciate and develop their own love for music.
